7 Ways to Craft Amazing SEO Content

There are thousands of Internet articles on just about any subject you can imagine. Some of them are good, some are even better and some are so terrible that you can’t even get through the first paragraph!

So, how can so many articles on the same topic be so different? What makes one so much better than the other? And, most importantly, how do I write my article(s) to get them to fall into that “even better,” if not “best,” category? Here are 7 ways to craft amazing SEO content:

1. Benefit from what is already out there

No matter how much information you have about a particular topic, seeing how other people have handled the same topic previously can be enormously beneficial.

Do a keyword search on your article topic to see what you get, and read several of those articles to see if there is information you can use. Don’t just limit your research to those articles; read scholarly reports, blogs and some online encyclopedias (be a little more wary with reader-contributed information, though).

Something else to pay attention to while perusing those many articles is to look at the way the pages set up their links. Find several pages that you think are set up in a convenient way; using styles that other sites have already found to work well may help the success of your site as well.

2. Write a “skim-able” article

Much of the reading that is done on the Internet is not actually reading, but “skimming,” glancing down the page and taking note of headings and main ideas. In order to be a successful online writer, you need to know how to write “skim”-able articles, but still be able to get your point across.

Besides, if your article is written in a style that is easy to skim, your readers may be intrigued enough to go back and read more thoroughly. Make use of keywords, longer headings and shorter paragraphs; if readers have to look too hard for their information, they will move on to another source.

3. Add pizzazz to your article titles

Your article title must be designed to capture readers’ attention and encourage them to read the article. If you are not getting the results you expected from your articles, the first place you should look is the title; an uninteresting title is a sure-fire way for your article to go unread. Here are a few ideas to help you create more attention getting ideas.

· Use more words in the title

· Tell the reader what they will get out of the article

· Don’t give away the whole story

4. Article formatting can increase your site traffic

If your article is not attractive to the eye, chances are, readers will not take the time to read the information contained within, no matter how interesting or valuable. However, if your article format is set up in an eye-catching way, the amount of readers will increase, leading to more traffic to your website, which, after all, is the intended purpose of the article.

5. Use the keywords properly

The problem with Internet search engines is that there is such a multitude of information on any given subject, that article placement is sometimes difficult. Most people will not look past the second or third page of results, so if your article is all the way back on page twelve, your readership will be negatively affected. Articles that contain the right amount of keywords in the title as well as the body tend to receive more favorable placement than those that don’t.

Repetition of the keyword is highly important when it comes to making a content SEO friendly. Your chosen keyword must be repeated several times throughout your content. You might want to repeat your keyword at the following places:

1. Once in the main heading

2. One time in the first paragraph

3. Two to three times throughout the remaining content

4. Once in theMetatitle

5. One to two times in links and image alt texts combined.

You might also want to highlight your keywords using bold, heading tags or other HTML tags.

Keywords are the cornerstone of search engine optimization. But, relevance is another key component. By relevance, what I mean is that your keywords must reflect what your site is actually about. If you have a car insurance site, your keyword “car insurance” fits exactly. If instead you use a non-relevant term like “trout fishing,” that does not fit.

Why does that matter? Because search engines don’t just look at keywords; they compare the entire site’s content to that of the keywords and description. A site whose keywords seem non-relevant to the content on the site may be ranked lower by a search engine or–especially in Google’s case–be deemed “spam,” a judgment for which many sites are eventually penalized.

So if you are going to implement any kind of SEO strategy it must use related keywords and the keywords must reflect the contents of the site. To do anything other than this is considered spam by the search engines, and sooner or later you will be penalized for it. If SEO is done right, it is the key to the navigational process of the Internet. Keywords are your entry point to this process.

6. Do extensive research

A good writer knows that no matter how well-versed they are on a particular subject, there is almost always something more they can learn. Research the topic as well as styles and formats of previously written articles on the same topic. Note the format on some of your findings; if the style of the article catches your eye, chances are, your readers will be interested as well. Take note of those formats that are not as eye-catching, too, and be sure not to use a similar style.

7. Choose an interesting topic

One factor in the success of your article is how interesting your topic is. A boring article does not attract readers, which will affect the number of visitors to your site, and ultimately, your sales as well. Talking to your friends, skimming through magazines, visiting online forums, and keeping an eye on social media sites are just some of the good ways to get a feel for what people are interested in.

I’m certain that if you use the information given in this report, article writing can be a hugely rewarding part of your overall online strategy and can take your online presence to an entirely new level.
